Guild recruitment bug?

I suspect I just found a bug.

I was planning to join a gang tonight. Just now I received an invite to join said gang (or at least so the message in my mailbox tells me). However, the invite is not showing in my gang page, which still claims I've not received any invites.

I suspect the reason is that half an hour before receiving the invite, I sent out an application to join the very same gang.

Can it be you can't receive invites while you have applications outstanding?
